Does Highfive Work With Wireless/Bluetooth Audio Devices?

Highfive works with wireless headsets on supported computers and mobile devices. Wireless headphones, which do not have a built-in microphone, will work with Highfive on supported mobile devices and computers that have a microphone.

 

Using Highfive With Wireless Headsets (Computer)

  1. Close out of Highfive.
  2. Go to your computer audio settings and set your wireless headset as the system default.
    • Windows: Start Menu > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage audio devices > Go to the Playback tab > Right-click on your headset and set it as the default communications device > Do the same with your headset on the Recording tab.
    • macOS: System Preferences > Sound > Go to the Output tab  > Select your headset > Do the same with your headset on the Input tab.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Start or join a video call. 
  5. Highfive! Audio will go through your wireless headset.

 

Using Highfive With Wireless Headsets (Mobile)

  1. Close out of Highfive.
  2. Pair and connect your headset with your mobile device. See your headset owner's manual for help with this.
  3. Start or join a Highfive video call.
  4. Highfive! Call audio will completely go through your wireless headset. 

 

Using Highfive With Wireless Headphones (Computer)

Important: In order to use headphones with Highfive, you will need a working microphone -- even if you plan on only listening to the meeting. This microphone can either be built-into your computer or connected externally to your PC. 

  1. Close out of Highfive.
  2. Go to your computer audio settings and set your wireless headphone as the system default device for audio output.
    • Windows: Start Menu > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage audio devices > Go to the Playback tab > Right-click on your headset and set it as the default communications device.
    • macOS: System Preferences > Sound > Go to the Output tab  > Select your headset.
  3. With the computer audio settings menu still open, go to your Recording Devices (Windows) or Input (macOS) tab. Using the same steps from above, make sure your microphone is set as the default recording/input device. 
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Start or join a video call. 
  6. Highfive! Call audio will output through your wireless headphones and Highfive will pick up your voice through your computer's microphone.

 

Using Highfive With Wireless Headphones (Mobile)

  1. Close out of Highfive.
  2. Pair and connect your headset with your mobile device. See your headphone owner's manual for help with this.
  3. Start or join a Highfive video call.
  4. Highfive! Call audio will completely go through your wireless headphones.
