Skype for Business: Integrating with Highfive

 

This feature is available for the Windows operating system. macOS and Linux are currently not supported.

 

Skype for Business users have the ability to invite chat contacts to join Highfive video calls. 

 

 

Setting up the integration

  1. Download the Highfive Skype for Business plugin by going to this link: https://start.highfive.com/app/skype
  2. Complete the setup process by installing the plugin. You can do so by opening the downloaded HighfiveSkype4BusinessPlugin.msi file. 

 

 

Using the integration

 

Inviting from Groups/Contacts

  1. Open Skype for Business.
  2. Right-click on the contact you wish to invite.

  3. Select Invite to Highfive Call.

  4. A new chat window will appear with your contact and a Highfive meeting link automatically posted as a message.

  5. To join the call, both you and your contact can click on the Highfive meeting link. It will open in your default web browser.

Inviting from a chat (Group and Direct messages)

  1. During a chat conversation, click the ... (More options) button in the bottom-righthand corner of the window. 
  2. Click Invite to Highfive Call.

  3. A Highfive meeting link will automatically be posted as a message.

  4. To join the call, both you and your contact can click on the Highfive meeting link. It will open in your default web browser.

Deploying the integration (optional)

 

The Highfive Skype for Business plugin can deployed via Microsoft Group Policy.
