Get your rooms, devices, and network ready

We know that you're excited about receiving your Highfive devices and you just can't wait to open them up and plug them in. That's what we like to hear! While you patiently wait, we suggest reviewing the checklist below to make sure you're ready to go for the best first time experience with Highfive.

Getting your conference rooms ready

Here's a checklist for conference rooms readiness:

  • Max room size: 14 ft x 22 ft
  • DHCP-enabled Ethernet port near the TV
  • 1080p flat-panel display with an available HDMI port
  • (Recommended) Enable HDMI-CEC for the TV

Optimize the audio and video experience of the Highfive device by performing the following checks:

  1. Turn off all picture settings including overscan and other similar enhancements
  2. Turn off all sound sweeteners including virtual surround sound, auto-volume leveling/gain control, and other similar enhancements.  More details here

Getting your computers and mobile devices ready

Here's a checklist for computer and mobile readiness:

  • Windows 7/8, 2.5G Core i5, 4GB RAM, webcam (built-in or connected)
  • Mac OS X 10.8/9/10, 2.5GHz Core i5 (i7 recommended), 4GB RAM, webcam
  • Latest versions of Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome
  • iOS: iPhone 6s/6s Plus, 6/6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPad Air, iPad Mini Retina
  • Android:requires Android version 4.3 & higher. Only devices with BLE support and an ARM processor (no Intel devices) will be able to install & run the Highfive application
  • Linux/ChromeOS: Not supported

Some anti-virus applications may require creation of exceptions for the Highfive App installer.

Getting your network ready

Here's a checklist for network readiness:

  • Bandwidth minimum 1.5 Mbps up and down per client, HD video 2.5 Mbps
  • Outgoing access for TCP/UDP traffic to port 5005
  • Outgoing access for TCP traffic to ports 80, 443

The audio and video experience is sensitive to four markers of network health: bandwidth, packet loss, latency, and jitter. You can test your network using this article before you start using Highfive.
