Release 1.30 (11/10/15)

Highfive’s 1.30 was released on Tuesday, 11/10/15. This update will bring significant quality improvements to the Highfive experience. Highlights include:

  • Reduced volume fluctuation in audio from users with certain hardware configurations
  • Enabled intelligent server-side audio mixing to improve call experience in a multi-party call
  • Added a series of beautiful images to the Highfive idle screen

You can expect no more than an hour of downtime starting at 9pm PDT on November 10th. Highfive desktop apps and devices will automatically update over the following 24 hours, while updates to our mobile apps will be available in their respective app stores.

Highfive Desktop Apps

  • Smoother video with lower CPU usage via optimizing the app
  • Reduced volume fluctuation in audio from users with certain hardware configurations
  • Enabled intelligent server-side audio mixing to improve call experience in a multi-party call
  • Reduced bandwidth and CPU  usage when  rendering multiple audio and video streams
  • Improved latency and frame rate when sharing screen from clients on wired connections
  • Third party authentications now occur in your default browser instead of the Highfive App
  • Fixed an issue where adding a guest while using a Highfive device wasn't always successful
  • Updated the Get Help panel UI and styling
  • A few spots of polish and improvements in the app interface

Highfive Device

  • Added a series of beautiful images to the Highfive idle screen
  • Added additional tweaks and polish to the Highfive device idle screen UI
  • Updated the device set-up process to include instructions on calibration and updates before starting a test call

iOS

  • Enabled support for iPod touch 6th generation
  • Updated Highfive device selection
  • Updated waiting room for devices with smaller screens
  • Fixed a crash on iPhone 5/5c when joining a call with another participant
  • Resolved an issue related to using a Highfive device that is provisioned on another domain
  • Fixed an issue related to submitting feedback while the keyboard is up
  • Updated the UI/Layout in several places
  • Signed in users without an avatar picture will now be able to take their photo when joining a call
  • Fixed an issue related to alerting users  when they are muted

Android

  • Fixed an issue where manually selecting a Highfive device could cause a crash
