Release 1.32 (12/15/15)

Highfive’s 1.32 update was released on Tuesday, 12/15/15. This update provides some new features for those customers in Early Access and general product improvements for everyone. Early access is our program that allows customers interested in our Premium tier of service to get new features ahead of the official launch in Q1 of next year. If you're interested, contact your sales representative today. Highlights include the following:

  • Early Access: Increased the maximum number of participants from 8 to 15
  • Early Access: Added a beta version of our Dial-in feature, allowing users to call into a Highfive meeting from their phone
  • Early Access: Set up a Custom Domain for use with Highfive
  • The Highfive device now supports emojis! 😎 Use characters like 🏈💰 in your meetings today!

A full list of updates is below. You can expect no more than an hour of downtime starting at 9pm PDT on December 15th. Highfive desktop apps and devices will automatically update over the following 24 hours, while updates to our mobile apps will be available in their respective app stores.

General Improvements:

  • Reduced the number of permissions we require to set up our Slack integration
  • When enabling Slack, you should immediately see the Authorize Slack button in your desktop app

Highfive Desktop Apps

  • Fixed a bug where the desktop client would behave as if a Highfive device was still in a call after it had disconnected
  • Fixed mute icon flickering observed when one or more remote participants is muted and there is network packet loss
  • Desktop app no longer shows a “Take over device” dialog when connecting to a TV that is already in the meeting
  • Fix an issue where the disabled camera icon could be obscured by the main video feed
  • Fixed an issue on Window devices where the type-ahead search results for our Slack integration were obscure
  • Various UI updates and fixes to the “'Get Help”' button & pop-up

Highfive Device

  • Fixed an issue with Highfive devices not working with some projector setups
  • The Highfive device now supports displaying of emoji characters in device name, call name, and username
  • Fixed a bug where, after getting disconnected, a Highfive device wouldn't automatically rejoin a call
  • Fixed a rare issue where a Highfive device would get into a state where it could not display video or another person's screen share until the device was rebooted
  • Fixed a UI issue where, when screensharing, the background would have dark colored bars

iOS

  • Enabled landscape view support in iPhone 5, 5C, and 5S
  • Fixed an issue on iPhone 6s/6s+ that caused distortion when a call was on speakerphone

Android

  • Fixed an issue where the app would present a blank screen after screen sharing on a call with no other participants
  • Fixed an issue with the mute icon when returning to a call that had been running in the background
